"The Moravian psychology department introduced me to a wide range of topics. Many courses allowed me to personalize my learning. Choosing projects of my own interest has helped me determine what to study when I further my education beyond Moravian."

Hometown:  Palmerton, PA

Major(s):  Psychology

Project: "New Directions for the Study of Disability and Rehabilitation Psychology"

Faculty mentor: Dana Dunn, professor of psychology and director of Learning in Common curriculum

Goal: become familiar with the literature in disability studies and positive psychology; rethink and reframe ideas; publish articles on the topics

Project outcome:  I co-authored a chapter for a book on social psychological contributions to assessment practices, as well as an article for children with disabilities.

Future plans: participate in the Moravian Honors program this year; next fall, begin graduate school to focus on social psychological research.
