The goals of these associations are to promote general awareness on topics that are important to college students such as mental health, alcohol and drugs, smoking, sexual abuse and rape, eating disorders, and cancer.
We are a chapter of the national organization of Active Minds. The group is designed to utilize peer outreach to increase students' awareness of mental health issues and symptoms of mental health illness, provide information about available resources, encourage students to seek help as soon as help is needed, and to serve as liaison between students and the mental health community. By promoting awareness and education, the group aims to remove the stigma that surrounds mental illness and create and open environment for discussions of mental health issues. We host mental health awareness speakers and hold stress-relief related events!
