Bethlehem, Pa., August 30, 2010 - The Dan DeChellis Trio will perform at Moravian College on Friday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Foy Concert Hall. The trio performs improvised jazz music with composer Dan DeChellis on piano, Reuben Radding, double bass, and Jeff Arnal, percussion.
DeChellis founded his own record label, Sachimay Records in 1996, and the Dan DeChellis Chamber Ensemble was formed in 2000 with the release of Chamber Music on Sachimay Records. He has been an active member of the Boston and New York "improve" scene, and one of the founding members of the Improvised and Otherwise Festival in New York.
The ensemble performs improvised chamber music for piano, voice, violin and percussion, that blurs the line between contemporary classical and improvised music, rendering masterfully combined standard piano virtuosity with extended technique and explosive bursts of energy.
