Faculty Panel to Discuss Vandana Shiva's Visit to Moravian College

Earth Democracy Advocate's talk at Moravian is topic of Faculty Panel Discussion

Bethlehem, Pa., November 3, 2010--Faculty members at Moravian College will hold a panel discussion regarding Vandana Shiva?s lecture at Moravian last month entitled "Earth Democracy--Human Freedom and a Fragile Planet." The program will be held on Thursday, November 4, at 4:00 p.m. in the UBC Room. The public is welcome to attend and admission is free.

Critical responses of Shiva's talk will come from economist Gordon Weil, dean of faculty, and vice-president of academic affairs; biologist Diane Husic, professor of biological studies; theologian Deborah Appler, associate professor, Hebrew Bible, Moravian Seminary; and economist Sonia Aziz, assistant professor, economics and business, who will serve as the moderator.

The UBC Room is located in the Haupert Union Building near the corner of Monocacy and Locust Streets in Bethlehem, Pa.
