Bethlehem, Pa., April 17, 2006—The Moravian College Theatre Company will close its current season with Dan Goggin’s wacky and funny musical comedy Nunsense. The production will run for five performances in the Arena Theatre at Moravian College: Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 20– 22 at 8 p.m., with matinees on Saturday and Sunday, April 22 and 23 at 2 p.m.
Winner of four Outer Critics Circle Awards including Best Off-Broadway Musical in its original New York production, the show is about a fund-raiser put on by the Little Sisters of Hoboken to raise money to bury sisters accidentally poisoned by the convent cook, Sister Julia (Child of God).
The cast will feature Diane Hriniak, Cathy Spallitta, Patty Colelli, Kelly Steward, and Nicole Spengler. Vicky Serrao, musical director/pianist will conduct Justin DeAngelo, electric keyboard player and Robert Stevens, percussionist. Jack Ramsey has staged the production with Ann Marie Squerrini as choreographer. Lighting design is by Wax Wings (KT Cort, designer, assisted by Ellen Ritter). Lauren Castrantas serves as stage manager with Christine Roach as assistant to the director.
