Bethlehem, Pa., January 31, 2011--Moravian College recently named Shelley A. Speirs as director of the Moravian Scholarship Fund, responsible for planning, leading, and implementing Moravian's annual giving fundraising efforts. The Moravian Scholarship Fund supports financial aid to academically qualified students.
Speirs previously worked as the director of outdoor tourism and sports marketing for the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. She was responsible for marketing programs that emphasized outdoor recreation, sustainable development, green tourism, and sports.
Prior to her work promoting tourism, Speirs spent four years as the director of donor relations and events for DARCC, Inc. Warren County, in Belvidere, New Jersey. Her fundraising experience also includes four years as the coordinator of annual funds, working with alumni relations and development at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. Speirs earned a Bachelor of Science in hospitality management from East Stroudsburg University.
