Bethlehem, Pa., October 4, 2011—The college website is the first place most prospective students and their parents turn to when investigating schools. Just in time for the fall admissions high school visit season, the college has redesigned its website www.moravian.edu. The quick overhaul was necessitated by the development of the new suite of materials created with Mindpower, Inc. that are being incorporated into the admission communications sequence for prospective students.
When searching online now, students will find a “new” Moravian, thanks to the recent website redesign undertaken by public relations in collaboration with admissions and CIT. Basing the look and feel on the marketing package developed this summer by MindPower, the new site incorporates the graphic elements and key message rolled out in August while addressing the recommendations by TargetX regarding the online campus visit process. Greater emphasis is placed on the campus visit with very prominent “calls to action” on the homepage and subpages that link to an improved personalized interface. The online application experience also has been streamlined and made visually cohesive.
“What you will see now is a crisp, clean design containing themes and content that advances our message of Moravian as the place to pursue your passion and receive a quality broad-based liberal arts education,” says Michael Wilson, director of public relations and marketing. “Our Website remains a vital communications medium for marketing the features, benefits and outcomes of a Moravian education. I’m grateful to the staff in CIT and admissions who helped us improve the look, utility and interactivity of the site.”
Working closely with Liquid, a digital media marketing consultant and content management system vendor, Christie Jacobsen, Moravian’s web manager, implemented the changes, matching the components already utilized in admissions materials that counselors have begun presenting to high school students and counselors around the region.
“We needed to present a vital, cohesive look, using the powerful language and graphic style, with some of the photography we have on file, along with our new photography from the Mindpower shots last spring,” explains Jacobsen. “This is an ongoing process, just like all websites. It’s fluid and we will regularly update the content to keep it fresh and appealing.”
Photographs, department pages and other content sections will be updated or added in a continuing support of the Live. Learn. Enjoy. approach to delivering on the Moravian Promise.
