A new look for Moravian College

Just in time for the new year, Moravian College is rolling out the Moravian star logo to complement its tag line implemented at the start of the fall semester: Live. Learn. Enjoy. The combination will create a richer and more accurate and distinctive graphic identity for the college.

In fact, the changeover already has begun, and the new, stylized Moravian star is taking the place of the cupola logo around campus.

The use of the Moravian star to graphically represent Moravian College was first examined and considered in 2000, and since has been used as a graphic element in publications and on the web. Recently, the star became a focal point in the rebranding and marketing efforts of the College.

“Working with Mindpower (Moravian’s marketing consultant) last spring to develop a new suite of admission communications helped us rediscover and define Moravian’s strengths, uniqueness and competitive advantages,” says Michael Wilson, director of public relations and marketing. “We believe the star exemplifies our rich history and traditions, our ties to the Bethlehem community, and our position in the higher education marketplace, in a way that no other iconic graphic can.”

The new logo and tag line appear in admissions materials and are making their way onto letterhead, envelopes and business cards. Soon, the street banners and other signage will include the star and Live. Learn. Enjoy. elements that capture the essence of Moravian College so well.
