Bethlehem, Pa., November 9, 2006— Moravian College will present the annual Vespers Preview Concert on Friday, November 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Foy Concert Hall, located in the Hurd Center for Music and Art in Historic Bethlehem.
The Moravian Choir, directed by Dr. Paula Ring Zerkle and the Moravian College Women’s Chorus conducted by Eduardo Azzati, will perform the identical musical program, with the exception of the candle ceremony, that will be performed at the annual college Vespers services held in Central Moravian Church during the first and second weekends in December. The Vespers Preview Concert is scheduled to afford the opportunity to those who wish to attend the Vespers service, but were unable to acquire tickets for the December program due to requests far exceeding tickets available.
Works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Arvo Pärt, and Zoltán Kodály, as well as selections from other cultures and eras will be sung by the Moravian Choir, and the Moravian College Women’s Chorus will perform works by Josef Gabriel Rheinberger, accompanied by Russell Jackson, organist.
The concert is open to the public and a $5 donation is suggested. Foy Concert Hall is located at the corner of Main and Church Streets in Bethlehem.
