Moravian Music Majors Deliver Singing Valentines for Charity

Delta OmicronBethlehem, Pa., February 13, 2013 –Moravian College’s chapter of Delta Omicron, the International Music Honors Fraternity, is selling Singing Valentines. All that is needed to make a beloved one’s wishes come true this Valentine’s Day is $2 and your loved one’s name and phone number. The exceptionally talented music majors of Moravian College will sing an a capella rendition of “You Are My Sunshine” over the phone on the big day. They may also take special requests, depending on the song.

All of the proceeds of Delta Omicron’s Singing Valentines go directly to the Delta Omicron Summer Music Camp. The camp serves middle school aged instrumentalists in the Lehigh Valley. It will feature instruction by Moravian music professors and special guest musicians from the Lehigh Valley. Heidi New of Delta Omicron says, “All the money goes to a great cause. Music education is really important, and we want to preserve it in this area.”

If you still need a way to impress your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day, Delta Omicron will be selling Singing Valentines today and Thursday. If you have any questions, you can contact Heidi New at sthwn01@moravian.edu.
