Inorganic fine particle synthesis, with particular emphasis on factors controlling the morphology and particle size of synthetic precipitated calcium carbonate. Expertise in intellectual property law, specifically the invention process and the protection of inventions through the filing, prosecution and issuance of a patent.
Dr. Fairchild has over 23 years of industrial R&D experience in the synthesis and characterization of fine particle inorganic materials, including lithium-containing compounds for use in fuel cell, ceramic and refractory applications, the development of pollution control catalysts for the reduction and removal of nitrogen oxides (NOx), and the synthesis of novel forms of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) for use in paper filling and coating applications. Dr. Fairchild is a registered U.S. Patent Agent and has worked with inventors on the process of obtaining patent protection, and has also provided intellectual property law training for research scientists.
