Moravian Ranks High Among Pennsylvania Schools for Return on Investment

College rated No. 26 among 401 colleges and universities statewide by AffordableCollegesOnline.org

High ROI CollegesBethlehem, Pa., July 29, 2013 —Moravian College is ranked No. 26 out of 401 Pennsylvania colleges and universities for greatest lifetime return on investment (ROI) according to a survey released today. Graduates from Moravian enjoy an earnings gap of $568,900 above non-degree holders over 30 years, and earn more on average than graduates from most other Pennsylvania schools. In the 2013 Payscale Report on College ROI, Moravian College ranked in the top third of the 1,511 institutions nationwide that qualified for the survey. The ROI figures are calculated by comparing a college graduate’s earnings, the total cost of a college education, and foregone wages from choosing to attend college. The report also cited that Moravian graduates realize an impressive 6.8 percent annual ROI when accounting for financial aid.

The criteria AffordableCollegesOnline.org used for determining “High ROI Colleges” included fully accredited institutions, public or private, that are four-year, degree-granting institutions. They utilized data on ROI using to PayScale’s 2013 College Value Report (Payscale.com (http://www.payscale.com/about/methodology). They also utilized data sets: NCES (http://nces.gov/); IPEDS (http://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/); and Carnegie Classification (http://classifications.carnegiefoundation.org/).
