Bethlehem, Pa., December 5, 2005—The Moravian College Art Club will hold a charity auction to benefit hurricane victims on Wednesday, December 7 at 5:30 p.m. in Payne Gallery. Works donated by Moravian students, faculty, staff, and alumni will be offered for bids. Refreshments will be served.
The auction is being coordinated by Jon Latiano, president of the Art Club, Emily Starner, vice president of the Art Club, and art major Chelsea Shepherd, in collaboration with Dr. Diane Radycki, Art Club advisor, and Jan Ciganick, co-advisor.
The Art Club will accept donations of artwork until the morning of the auction. In addition the club has received several monetary contributions, and all the proceeds will be donated to the hurricane victims in the Gulf Coast region.
Schattschneider’s donation includes reproduction prints of several Degas pieces. At auction will be oil paintings by alumni and several pieces by art faculty member Jan Crooker. One of the Crooker works is a print of her oil painting “Pink Lemonade.”
