Moravian College to host program on legal issues in higher education

LVAIC program to feature attorney Peter Lake

(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) – Moravian College will play host to the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges (LVAIC) program, “A Day with Peter Lake,” on Friday, February 28, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The program will be attended by administrators and faculty from the LVAIC institutions. The morning session will focus on general legal issues affecting higher education and the afternoon session will targeted issues specific to student affairs administrators.

Peter Lake and his associate, Bob Bickel, wrote a highly acclaimed book, The Rights and Responsibilities of the Modern University: Who Assumes the Risks of College Life? Lake earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Harvard University. He is currently a professor at Stetson University School of Law and a recognized authority on higher education law.

The mission of the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges, Inc. (LVAIC) is to make strong institutions stronger. LVAIC is incorporated as a non-profit, charitable organization whose members include Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Lafayette College, Lehigh University, Moravian College and Muhlenberg College.
