Moravian College to Host Roundtable on Contemporary China and Its Future

(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) – Moravian College will host a “Roundtable on Contemporary China and Its Future” on Wednesday, March 24 at 6 p.m. in the United Brethrens Room (UBC) in the Haupert Union Building (HUB).The roundtable will offer expert commentary and analysis on the role ideology, nationalism, economics, culture, social groups, and social problems will play in the possible paths to be taken by China as a nation in the 21st century. It will provide a forum for questions and discussion involving audience participation.

The roundtable discussion will be led by three local university professors who specialize in China and East Asian studies. Dr. James Carter is an assistant professor of history at St. Joseph’s University. He earned his B.A. from the University of Richmond and his M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. from Yale University. Dr. Xiao-Bin Ji is an assistant professor of history at Rutger’s University. He received his B.A. from Princeton University, his M.A. from Arizona State University, and his Ph.D. from Princeton University. Dr. Fischler is an assistant professor of political science at Moravian College. She earned her B.A. from the University of Puget Sound, her M.A. from Monterey Institute of International Studies, and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin.
