Moravian College dancers to perform—March 26-27

Annual kaleidoscope of dance created by student, faculty, and guest choreographers

(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) – This year’s annual performance by the Moravian College Dancers will feature many forms of dance from ballet to tap to jazz—created by student, faculty, and guest choreographers. The performances will be held on Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27 at 8 p.m. in Foy Concert Hall. The sight and sound spectacular will feature works by six student choreographers, two resident choreographers, and five visiting companies. Moravian College choreographers include Jaime Good ’04 (Macungie, Pa.), for “In the Zone” by Britney Spears; Cathleen Lavelle ’05 (Bushkill, Pa.), for “I Am Ready” from Cruel Intentions; Rebecca Moore ’06 (Easton, Pa.), for a traditional African piece; Dana Patchcoski ’04 (Dunmore, Pa.) and Christine Pukszyn ’04 (Center Valley, Pa.), for a 1980’s melody; and Katie Washer ’06 (Long Pond, Pa.), for a classical ballet piece.

Other members of the MC Dancers are Danielle Anderson, Lauren Anderson, Tara Baselice, Brenda Belfiglio, Nancy Brennan, Jess Cusumano, Melissa Droust, Amanda Logan, Kristin Maddaloni, Andrea Nudelman, Bridget O’Rourke, Megan O’Rourke, Aubrey Reinmiller, and Nicole Spendler. Dawn Ketterman-Benner is the faculty advisor.

The MC Dancers are directed by Pattie Bostick Winn, a former professional dancer and a member of the Muhlenberg College and Cedar Crest College dance faculties. She is co-owner of the Patricia Bostwick Dance Center. Resident choreographers are ballet mistress Mary Anne Gillen Hoffman and Nicole B. Hockenberry, tap professional.

Guests include Coral Nolan Academy (Macungie, Pa.), T.A.P (Easton, Pa.), In Motion Dance Company (Chester, NJ), Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts’ Dance Ensemble (Bethlehem, Pa.), and Roger Von Bing’s Broadway Rhythms Dance Company (Easton, Pa.). Nolan’s group, which has been performing with the MC Dancers for the past 15 years, will perform a ballet piece. Under the direction of Nicole B. Hockenberry, T.A.P. will perform a tap number. Alumni dancer Kathie Kececi ’85 will direct the In Motion Dance Company in a modern dance piece. Director Kim Maniscalco and the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts’ Dance Ensemble will make their first appearance in the dance concert with a ballet performance. And after a year of absence, Roger Von Bing returns to the stage with Broadway jazz.
