Paintings, ceramics, drawings, graphic design pieces, photography, and sculptures on display through May 16
(Bethlehem, Pa.) – In celebration of the class of 2004, Payne Gallery at Moravian College is featuring “The Moravian Senior Show,” an exhibition of work created by graduating seniors in art. The exhibit, which includes a wide array of paintings, ceramics, drawings, graphic design pieces, photography, and sculptures, will run through May 16.
Below is a sampling of some of the students and their works:
• Four design print pieces by Kelly Warner (Hanover, Pa.) are on display including a magazine spread, a book spread, a leather tote bag design, and an “onomatopoeia” illustration with typography. She is also showing a digital photography triptych, Tall Tales, featuring manipulated images. Warner took images of people in tall stereotypes such as a model, a basketball player, and a flight attendant and inserted herself into the images. She has also contributed her digital video piece entitled The Demystification of KIMnKelly, a “mock-umentary” about how people confuse Warner with her friend. A pencil drawing of a tulip and a photograph of a Raggedy Ann doll and a Fozzie Bear doll (Muppets) by Warner will also be on display.
• Erica Heusser (Morristown, NJ) has four pieces in the senior show including a palette-knife painting in oils (Peggy’s Cove), a self-portrait from digital photography (Self-Portrait), a mixed media photo project (Ming), and a large charcoal/conte drawing (Reflection). Nicole Casola is displaying six photographs including Untitled #3 (5” x 7”), Fleeting (5” x 7”), Unwelcomed Silence (11” x 14”), and a three-photograph series entitled Observez La Femme (16 x 20).
• Kim Broadbent (Souderton, Pa.) is exhibiting four pieces including Still Life, oil on canvas; Self Portrait Series, manipulated digital photos; The Wait, silver gelatin print; and In the Style of Edward Hopper, oil on canvas. Cassie McClutchy will show five pieces of her work. They are Stacey, Cassie & Joe, dry point print; Ryan, a photograph from the series of Light & Lust; and Letterhead, Business Card, and Clothing Tag from the Jeans for Every ASS campaign, quark and mixed media.
