Moravian College to Host Fall Open House
Prospective students to visit Saturday, September 25 and Saturday, October 23
(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania)— Moravian College will once again be welcoming prospective students and their parents as it hosts its annual round of Fall Open Houses. The first will be held on Saturday, September 25 and the second on Saturday, October 23. Both days will follow the same schedule and include tours of the College and facilities, information sessions on fields of study and special academic programs at Moravian, a seminar on financial aid, and a question-and-answer session by current Moravian students.
Each Open House will begin at 9 a.m. with registration at either Johnston Hall (September 25) or Breidegam Field House (October 23), both located on Moravian’s Main Campus. Awaiting Moravian’s honored guests will be various members of the College’s staff, students, and coaches available to answer questions as visiting families are invited to enjoy coffee, tea, and a light breakfast. Welcoming remarks will be extended by Bernard J. Story, vice president for enrollment, and Dr. Ervin J. Rokke, president, at 9:30 a.m. in Johnston Hall.
“Twenty-Six Points” student ambassadors will follow-up the welcome by guiding visitors on walking tours of the Main Street Campus from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Prospective students will have the chance to visit, among other places of interest, Moravian’s dining halls, computer labs, athletic facilities, and residence halls.
Guides will conclude tours by escorting families to the site of the academic information sessions or the financial aid session, which will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. In the academic information sessions, prospective students will attend presentations about various academic majors and other special academic programs. Both professors and their students will be on hand, presenting, distributing materials, and answering questions. A concurrent session will be held in Prosser Auditorium where the Financial Aid and Admissions staff will address individual concerns of prospective parents and students.
Student Panels will be held in the Priscilla Payne Hurd Academic Complex from 12:15 – 1:00 p.m. There, parents and students can discuss their concerns and questions with current Moravian College students.
An Admissions session will also be held from 12:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Colonial Hall, where any remaining questions about the College, admissions, will be answered. A light lunch will be served, and those wanting a guided tour of the Priscilla Payne Hurd Campus will be accommodated from this location.
