Moravian College Equestrian Team to Co-host IHSA Horse Show with Princeton University

BETHLEHEM, Pa. October 7, 2004—Moravian College will be co-hosting an intercollegiate horse show with Princeton University beginning at 8:30 a.m. on October 9th at Briarwood Farms in Readington, New Jersey. The Moravian College Equestrian Team will be competing with its seven-member team against Zone 3 Region 4 teams in various levels of equestrian competition, from the advanced Open division to Walk Trot. Other participating institutions include Lehigh University, Bucknell University, Cedar Crest College, Bloomsburg University, Kutztown University, Rutgers University, Scranton University, Susquehanna University, and Lafayette College

Moravian's current team includes Paula Thompson '05 (Center Valley, Pa.) team Captain Ashley Garrett '06 (Bangor, Pa.), Dan DeRicco '08, (Bethlehem, Pa.), Cecilia Jeppesen '08 (Bethlehem, Pa.), Kelly Jones '08 (Pen Argyl, Pa.), Allison Mayer '08 (Great Meadown, N.J.) and Nicole Kovolenko '08 (Bethlehem, Pa.). This show will be the first time the team will compete as a group for the 2004-2005 season.

The Moravian College Equestrian Team website also has been featured on the nationally-viewed collegiate equestrian sport website Campus Equestrian. Editor Steve Maxwell recently spotlighted Moravian's newly renovated website as a part of the "Website of the Week" news feature. In his article, he gives information about Moravian's team and also reviews the team's website and its contents. Moravian's team website includes a roster of students, photo galleries of the barn, horses, and competitions, a scoreboard for keeping the riders' points from the shows, and a collection of student-edited video clips.
