Moravian among “Best Colleges” in Princeton Review’s 2004 guide

College included with nation’s top 10% of institutions for undergraduate education

(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania)— Moravian College is one of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review, the New York-based company known for its test-prep and education services. The college is one of 351 schools featured in the just-published 2004 edition of The Princeton Review annual college guide, The Best 351 Colleges.

“We regard the schools in this book as ‘the crème of the crop’ institutions for undergraduate education,” said Robert Franek, assistant vice president of guidebook publishing, The Princeton Review. “Only about 10% of the colleges in America and only two Canadian colleges are in the book. Each one offers an outstanding academic program. We select schools for the guide based on our knowledge of and visits to them, on data we review about them, and on the opinions of independent college counselors, students and parents we talk to and survey. We also work to have a wide representation of colleges in the guide, by region, size, selectivity and character. It includes public and private schools, traditional and non-traditional colleges, historically black colleges and universities, and science and technology-focused institutions.”

Considered a leading publication for selecting colleges, The Princeton Review's "Best Colleges" includes a two-page overview on each college that examines the institution's culture, academics, social life, composition of the student body, and admissions information. Sidebars of each page supply information in a tabular form, rating campus life, academics, and difficulty of admission along with supplying a freshman profile and financial facts.

Moravian College was named last year by Princeton Review’s to its guide of the best 345 Colleges. "We are certainly pleased to be recognized as one of the best colleges in the country again this year," said Bernie Story, vice-president for enrollment at Moravian College.

Moravian College is one of four Lehigh Valley institutions included in the best colleges guide—others include Lehigh University, Lafayette College, and Muhlenberg College.
