Following several years performing summers in Prague, Moravian College jazz faculty, Neil Wetzel, Skip Wilkins, & Gary Rissmiller, will be joined in Bethlehem, PA by two of their Czech colleagues - Rostislav Fraš & Josef Fečo. This International Quintet will perform traditional and new tunes using the international genre: jazz music.

Student Recital: "Schubert's 'Winterreise'"

Senior vocal student Jonathan Boksan will present Winterreise (Winter Journey), a song cycle of 24 poems by Wilhelm Müller set for male voice and piano by Franz Schubert. Russell Jackson, organist and choirmaster at the Cathedral Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem, accompanies.

Well-known area tenor (and Moravian College instructor) Greg Oaten performs the early song cycle Die Schöne Müllerin. This cycle by Franz Schubert uses the poems of Wilhelm Müller for their text. Mr. Oaten is joined on piano by Michael Toth.

Moravian College faculty member, Inna Eyzerovich, joins the Moravian College-Community Orchestra under the direction of Donald Spieth, in Felix Mendelssohn’s Concerto for Violin & Orchestra in E minor. Also on the program is a world premiere of an as yet untitled work by 2003 graduate Jeremy Sawruk. Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances: Suite II round out the evening.
