Following several years performing summers in Prague, Moravian College jazz faculty, Neil Wetzel, Skip Wilkins, & Gary Rissmiller, will be joined in Bethlehem, Pa by two of their Czech colleagues - Rostislav Fraš & Josef Fečo. This International Quintet will perform traditional and new tunes using the international genre: jazz music.

This concert features Concerto Competition Winner,senior Cynthia Dretel performing the virtuosic "Concerto for Marimba and Wind Ensemble" by Brazilian composer, Ney Rosauro. The Wind Ensemble, made up of Moravian College students, will perform additional selections.

Well-known area tenor (and Moravian College instructor) Greg Oaten performs the early song cycle Die Schöne Müllerin. This cycle by Franz Schubert uses the poems of Wilhelm Müller for their text. Mr. Oaten is joined on piano by Michael Toth.

Moravian College faculty member, Inna Eyzerovich, joins the Moravian College-Community Orchestra under the direction of Donald Spieth, in Felix Mendelssohn's Concerto for Violin & Orchestra in E minor. Also on the program is a world premiere of an as yet untitled work by 2003 graduate Jeremy Sawruk. Respighi's Ancient Airs and Dances: Suite II round out the evening.

John Lahutshy tells the story of birth in Moscow in 1990. He was abandoned and sent to Stalinistic orphanage system which treated him poorly due to his physical disability resulting from cerebral palsy. At age 9 1/2 John’s life changed when he was adopted by Paula Lahutsky of Bethlehem Township. Sponsored by the Zinzendorf Society, Friends of Reeves Library, Sigma Tau Delta, and USG.
