JOB POSTING: CodeHOUNDS Day Camp Facilitator
Moravian College’s Information Technology Department is seeking a facilitator for the CodeHOUNDS Camp at Moravian College program. The day camp will include two sessions, July 8-12 and July 15-19, from 9am-4pm each day. If camp registration demands it, additional sessions may be added for a total of four weeks, to be determined by the end of May. Each session will include approximately 12 campers. Moravian College IT student workers will assist the facilitator. Training will be provided by the IT department during a mandatory (and paid) training period. Training will be scheduled based on shared availability between Facilitator and Camp Directors.
This position is a temporary position and ineligible for benefits.
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma with at least some college experience required. An associates or baccalaureate degree is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate for this position is enthusiastic and self-motivated and has experience working with 10-13 year olds, either in a classroom or structured recreational setting, to create an engaging, energetic, and fun learning environment. Candidates should have interest in technology and programming and be proficient in the use of classroom technology, i.e. Mac computers, AirPlay, iPad devices. Candidates must be willing to learn the Swift coding language through the use of Learn to Code 1 & 2 curricula and corresponding lessons in the Swift Playgrounds app, and must be willing to learn to operate connected technology, i.e. simple robots (and associated Swift Playgrounds).
