JOB POSTING: Police Dispatcher
The part-time Police Dispatcher is responsible for receiving calls placed to the department and dispatching campus police/security officers as needed. In addition, this individual is responsible for the maintenance of logs, other necessary paperwork and other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police or Office Manager. This position will fill the third shift (10:30pm-6:30am) every other Friday and Saturday. The minimum number of shifts is four (4) per month.
This position is part-time, 12 months, and eligible for limited benefits.

QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalency is required. Must have knowledge of the geographical locations on campus and be able to communicate these locations to the appropriate individuals. Previous use of a 2-way police radio is preferred but not necessary. The position demands excellent organizational skills as well as superior interpersonal skills (verbal and written), and an ability to work closely with all constituencies of the College and Seminary including students, staff and faculty, in addition to the general public. Computer literacy as well as experience with Microsoft Office, particularly database applications, word processing and spreadsheets is essential. Must maintain a valid or current PA operator’s license or operator’s license in the state which residing. Must submit to a criminal background check. Physical requirements include ability to sit at desk and answer telephones, with very occasional stretching to reach logbooks in overhead shelves. Phone answering does not prevent standing, stretching, or walking. Must be able to work all shifts (weekday and weekend) and extended shifts as deemed necessary to provide coverage for all shifts and special events.
