You can tell it’s the start of a semester. Everyone is sending out directives. Here are some of general importance.

ROOM SERVICE: The HUB controls the master calendar for campus events. Anyone needing a venue (indoor or outdor) for a meeting or event should start there. The point person is Ann Claussen at Ext. 1491 or Or you can visit the Moravian intranet and find reservation information through the Student Services link.

SCHOOL’S OUT: Faculty who must cancel class because of weather should call or e-mail the registrar’s office, except for first-period class cancellations, which are handled by the Office of Campus Safety (Ext. 1421). Faculty with evening classes should call the CGS office. Weather cancellations will be posted on the intranet website and the College’s weather hotline, as well as broadcast on Channel 69, 790 and 1400 AM, and 96.1, 100.7, and 104.1 FM.

NO NEW TAXES: However, you can get a head start on paying the old ones with an H&R Block discount coupon from the Human Resources office on the third floor of Colonial Hall.

HEALTH CARE: Membership cards from Pennsylvania Blue Shield should arrive by the end of this week. (If you don’t receive yours, call Carol Meixell at Ext. 1528.) One card serves for both insurance and prescription drugs. Those enrolled in the voluntary dental and vision plans will receive separate cards for them. Carol recommends creating a shortcut to Blue Shield through its website, The site provides claim and prescription refill forms; provider directories; drug formularies; tools to track personal exercise, meals, and weight; health and wellness articles; registered nurse on-call line for all health questions; and member discounts.
