Connie Klepper of the Registrar’s Office
won this year’s Lucy A. McCall Award for support
staff, and Larry Mayers of the groundskeeping staff the
Louis J. Mirra
Award. Both were presented at the annual holiday dinner for
faculty and staff.
Connie Bednar Klepper ’90 has worked
at the College for 25 years, in the Development Office, for
the vice president
for planning and research, and now in the Registrar’s
Office. As her citation noted: “Even under the most
stressful circumstances—especially under the most stressful
circumstances—she is efficient, helpful, patient, and
unflappable.” The editor of InCommon can confirm this,
as in the weeks prior to Commencement, Connie keeps tabs
on the constant confusing changes of students from “walkers” to
graduates and back again.
“One of our institution’s greatest
assets is the undeniable beauty of our campus,” President
Rokke said in his remarks about LarryMayers, who has nurtured
that beauty
for almost two decades: as dependable as he is visible, whether
planting new beds, clearing walks in winter, or setting
up
for a campus event. “At the same time,” the
President said, “he perfectly complements his big
hands with an even bigger heart,” donating books
and plants to the College in the names of faculty or
staff members.
Jon Conrad, director of human resources,
was the second
recipient of an Impact award for exceptional service
to the College
and Seminary. He was presented with the citation and
check at the Colonial Hall staff Christmas party in December. |
