Tree's
Company
The Class of 2006 has decided to make its class
gift a tree, planted in memory of its late member
J.P. Krupa. Because J.P. was on the track team, the
tree will be part of the windbreak to be planted
later this spring at the redone Steel Field track.
J.P. died in an accident last summer
while on a study trip in Costa Rica. Jennifer Burkhardt ’06,
Whitehall, class secretary, said the entire class
decided on the tribute after the memorial service
for their late classmate last fall.
Sigma Phi Epsilon,
to which J.P. belonged, also is contributing to
the memorial tree fund. The cost of the tree depends
on its size and maturity.
Class projects to underwrite
it include a raffle, a formal appeal to track
alumni and alumnae from the Development Office, and
a collection during the women’s basketball playoff
game against Widener University on Wednesday, February
23. |
