Belated Congratulations

InCommon regrets that it has taken so long to note that Jackie Giaquinto, secretary to the Psychology Department, and Rodney Strohl of Facilities Services were the winners of the College’s annual staff awards. Jackie won the Lucy A. McCall Award for secretarial-clerical personnel and Rodney the Louis J. Mirra Award for phyisical plant workers.

Stacey Zaremba, chair of psychology, said Jackie’s 16 years of service have been distinguished by “hard work, efficiency, organization, and a professional attitude.” Jackie is often the first to offer advice or direction when a student has a question, and she has shepherded generations of psychology majors from declaration to graduation.

Rodney, a mechanic who oversees the College’s heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation system, was praised for his skill, his smile, and his 24/7 attitude toward his job.

The awards were presented at the College’s holiday dinner in December.
