The $5,000 Question!

If those who took the half-court shot during basketball season in hopes of winning $5,000, the one who came closest was Mary Coyle Klinger at the February 11 women’s game.

It turns out she is the basketball coach at Rutgers Prep in New Jersey, where freshman forward Jenny Hackleman, Solvang, California, played for her last season.

Mary’s twin sister, Pat Coyle, is an assistant coach with the New York Liberty. With both of them on the Scarlet Knights team, Rutgers University won the women’s championship in 1982.

Chris Dailey, associate head coach for the perennially excellent University of Connecticut women, captained the Rutgers team. g
