Tom Mondschein, user support analyst for CIT, has
a secret life as a classical and jazz guitarist. He’s a member of the Moravian
College Guitar Ensemble, directedc by John Arnold of the music
faculty, and teaches beginning guitar at Lehigh Carbon Community College. And with
his friends Frank Michael Flandorffer Sr. of Lafayette College, Michael Baer, Sean
Bach (who says he’s a direct descendant of J.S. Bach), and Heath Hitchcock of the
Community Music School in Allentown, he’s a member of the Pennsylvania Guitar Quintet.
The group’s debut CD, Introducing the Pennsylvania Guitar Quintet: The Peter
Hall Sessions, includes original guitar music and transcriptions of works
by Vivaldi, Debussy, Corelli, Telemann, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Granados, and Augustín
Barrios, among others, in styles from baroque to soft jazz. The snazzy logo is
by Kirsli Spinks ’05, Lebanon, N.J., and the case design by Lauren
