Gains
Gary Olson, professor of political science
and chair of the department, attended the inter-institutional
meeting
of the Washington Semester Program at American University,
April 4-5 in Washington, D.C. Speakers included former Senator
Max Cleland of Georgia.
Gary lunched with the five students
in the program this semester, each of whom is completing
an internship with a government
agency or non-governmental organization:

Kimberly Baird ’04, Livingston, New Jersey. Internship:
National Center for Leadership. Washington Semester program: “Transforming
Communities.”

Justin Bennett ’04, Colts Neck, New Jersey. Internship:
Public affairs office of the associate administrator of the
Environmental Protection Agency. Program: “International
Business and Trade.”
•
Drew Bramley ’04, Manasquan, New Jersey. Internship:
U.S. Department of Education. Program: “American Politics.”
•
Michael Chrnelich ’04, West Trenton, New Jersey. Internship:
Chambers of Judge Anna Blackburn-Rigsby, D.C. Superior Court.
Program: “Justice.”
•
Megan Wise ’05, North Wales. Internship: U.S. Public
Interest Research Group, a consumer-protection
lobby. Program: “Transforming
Communities.”
Over the years, more than
100 Moravian students have spent a semester
working and studying in
Washington under this
program, for which Gary is Moravian’s faculty coordinator. |
