Housekeeping

Breathe easy: Heating and air conditioning in Collier Hall of Science will be off May 13-24. Electricity and water will not be affected, and the building will be open for faculty and student use.

Final notice: Faculty are reminded that all library books are due back by June 1. Or else.

Home office: Ron Helmuth tells us that a recent software contract between Moravian and Microsoft accords “work at home” rights for faculty and staff to use Microsoft Office on their home PCs using Moravian’s licensing. Installation CDs are provided at a nominal fee by the Foundation for California Community Colleges. Visit its web site, http://foundationccc.org, for more information or to download a printable order form. “This is a wonderful concession to the academic community,” Ron says. “Take advantage of it!”’

The dating game: Ann Claussen has embarked on the complicated job of creating a comprehensive schedule of College and Seminary events for the 2002-03 academic year.

Please send to her office, which is right behind the HUB desk, all programs, activities, conferences, major events, and meetings. Or e-mail her at meaec01@moravian.edu.

The resulting mountain of data will find its way into various communication channels to keep the campus community aware of what’s going on. The Public Relations Office plans an on-line calendar to link to the College home page.

Speech! Speech! Learning in Common is holding a faculty workshop 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. May 24 to discuss “Speech Activities in the Classroom.” It will be led by Jack Ramsey, professor of English, and will be held in the HUB’s Arena Theater. Information: Kay Somers, Ext. 1403.
