have short film works on the program of “Prequel,” the Southside
Film Festival of Bethlehem. See www.southsidefilmfestival.com for a schedule.

Dave Roth ’85, artist-lecturer in music (jazz piano), has arranged
a gig at The Café, 221 W. Broad St., Bethlehem, for Grammy-nominated
L.A. musician Mike Melvoin, jazz piano, and bassist Steve Gilmore. 7:00-10:00

July 11-17
The 12th annual July Jazz Getaway features bassist Rufus Reid.
Its events include a faculty kickoff concert, 7:30 p.m. July
11; a performance by the Rufus Reid Jazz Ensemble and Moravian
College Big Band, 7:30 p.m. July 15; and the finale, July
Jazz Getaway Ensembles Concert,
7:30 p.m. July 17. Tickets for the kickoff concert are $12,
$6 seniors/students. Tickets for Reid’s concert are $15, $10 seniors,
$5 students. Ext. 1650. The finale concert is free.
Reid will give a master class at 10:30 a.m. July 16; admission
$5. The popular open jam session, at 7:30 p.m. July 14, is free to all. Just
bring your instrument! All events are in Foy Hall. Information: jjg@moravian.edu.
