Bonae Voluntatis

Phyllis Walsh, coordinator of community-service opportunities, announces that a Day of Caring to support United Way’s campaign kickoff will take place Thursday, September 15.

She has made arrangements with two local agencies of longstanding concern and needs volunteers to staff them.

• Bethlehem YWCA needs assistance in its Clothes Closet, which offers women appropriate clothing and accessories for the transition back into the workforce. The hours are 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., with shifts available to accommodate personal schedules.

• New Bethany Ministries Soup Kitchen needs eight volunteers to prepare and serve lunch to our less fortunate neighbors—some of the same folks who attend our holiday dinner each year at Cathedral Church of the Nativity. Hours: 9:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Students interested will need to carpool. A core group of five is needed to prepare lunch, with additional people coming to serve the meal.

Call Ext. 1602 or e-mail to Phyllis would like to confirm participation by the end of this week.
