How ’bout That,
Sports Fans?
The
Economics of Sports, a new textbook by Peter von Allmen
of the Department of Business and Economics and Michael Leeds
of Temple University, already has been adopted as a course
book at more than 20 colleges and universities. Written for
von Allmen’s own “Economics of Sports” class, the book discusses
industrial organization, public finance and labor economics,
illustrating these issues with case studies from the sports
world. Karl Einolf of Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg,
Md., said: “Leeds and von Allmen turn every sports enthusiast
into a fan of economics.”
The Economics of Sports by Michael
Leeds and Peter von Allmen is published by Addison Wesley.
