Music Institute students Jenna Lynn Wayne, Jessica Argenti, Kavita and Jeevan Jain-Cooks, Rebecca Pottenger, John Baylor, Julia Lipkis, David and Deborah Chi, Jennifer Lee, and Christian Pranitis represented Moravian at the October 18 Jacobs Music-Steinway Performathon at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. (The College bought two new Steinways from Jacobs Music in August.) They are students of artist-lecturers Arianna Goldina, Brian Henkelmann ’78, ’83, Martha Schrempel, Jenny Saloky Collins ’75, Barbara Thompson, and Jane Checkeye

Julia, 9, is the daughter of composer-in-residence Larry Lipkis and Linda Lipkis, who has been an adjunct faculty member in English.
“The performathon went very well and was a real coup for the Music Institute,” Larry says. “A crew from Channel 17 filmed parts of it and aired it during the 10:00 news [October 20]. The segment lasted less than two minutes, and they didn't mention Moravian, unfortunately, but otherwise, it was a good clip.”
