Moravian’s small but mighty international
community will celebrate International Education Week with
a variety
of worldly events.
“A Taste of Culture: Africa” (Friday,
November 14) features food and entertainment
from this complex continent. 8:00 p.m., HUB.
The opening of “Hounds Around
the World,” photographs by Moravian
students who have studied abroad and international students at the College,
is Monday, November 17. (See Date-book.) Prizes for the best photographs
will be
awarded near the show’s closing on December 8.
Also, Reeves Library
will have a display called “Celebrating International
Education” during November.
Accompanying the international table at
the Career Fair, Wednesday, November 18, at the HUB, is a workshop on “How
to Market Your Study-Abroad Experience,” 4:00-5:00
p.m. in 232 Hurd Academic Complex.
Following Sones de México (see
Datebook) is an international poetry coffeehouse, 9:00 p.m.-midnight on South
Campus.
Flags of all countries represented on Moravian’s campus will be raised
in a ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, November 20, at the amphitheater beside
Reeves Library. International students will share their cultures with fourth-
and fifth-graders at William Penn School, just down Main Street from the
College. There’s a French dinner and film at 5:30 p.m. in the HUB’s
Laros Room. The film is Amélie, the charming comedy with Audrey Tatou
as a matchmaking waitress.
