In addition to being the administrative assistant for the Art Department
and an adjunct instructor in art history, Jan Ciganick is an
exquisite watercolorist. She has a show of her work at Reading Area Community
College through December 16, called “Historic
Buildings of Eastern Pennsylvania.”
Her painting (above) from last year’s Paint Out
at the Bethlehem Steel Works, “Blast Furnace No. 4,” was accepted for the juried
Palette Club exhibit at Allentown Art Museum, which closed October 15.
You can see
it, however, in “Moment in Time: The Bethlehem Steel Plant Today,” opening Thursday
at Payne Gallery. This exhibit showcases the best of those works created at Paint
Out 2004. It includes works by Krista Steinke Finch; and of the Moravian art students
who participated in Paint Out, Kirsli Spinks ’05 also has a piece in the show. |
