Friends
of Reeves Library, a new support group, invites the campus
community to a reception from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. today in the
librarys Rare Books Room
Formation of the Friends group coincides
with the 35th anniversary of the librarys opening and
the 10th of completion of its wings.
At 5:00 p.m., there will be a short ceremony to thank Robert
P.L. Frick 49 for his longtime support and to dedicate
the bookcase he commissioned from Duckloe Brothers for the
Rare Books Room.
He gave the case, which matches one he donated several years
ago, in honor of his friend and fellow student, the late Rev.
Henry L. Williams 48, who was the first librarian of
Reeves. Fricks other gifts have included a copy of Orbis
Sensualium Picti (1746) by Comenius.
The reception also will be a chance to meet
new library staff members Wendy Juniper, reference librarian,
and John Weeren, college archivist.
Call or e-mail Rita Berk, library director,
to respond to the invitation. Ext. 1540 or berkr@moravian.edu.
