Thomforde Inauguration

Parade Guidelines

Dr. Thomforde’s Inauguration is fast approaching!  There are many activities planned throughout the weekend of April 20-22.  We will kickoff the festivities with the Inaugural Parade.

You may walk as a group or have the members of your organization ride in a vehicle for the parade.  You must sign up at the HUB Desk to participate in the parade by Wednesday, April 18.

You must comply with the following guidelines if you wish to participate in the parade:

  • All members must behave in a respectful manner.
  • All members must – when riding in a vehicle – keep their arms and legs in the vehicle.
  • No open containers OF ANY KIND are allowed in the parade.
  • No alcohol or smoking is allowed in the parade.
  • Your advisor should be present.
  • Campus Safety will assist in monitoring these guidelines.

We would like your group to be ready to line up in front of Johnston Hall NO LATER than 6 pm.  You will be assigned a place in the parade and we ask that you keep that space throughout the parade.  The parade route will be as follows: Locust Street, right on Main Street until we reach South Campus.  We will then have buses available to bring people back to North Campus for the barbecue and fireworks.  In case of rain, the parade will be held on the campus streets.  We will decide this on Friday morning and inform your contact person of this change.

We encourage fun decorations, banners, costumes – anything which really livens up your presentation and exudes school spirit and pride in the school.

Please follow the guidelines and help us make this the best parade we have ever had at Moravian College. You must sign up to be in the parade. We hope you will join us throughout the Inaugural weekend.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Ann Claussen (ext. 1492 or meaec01@moravian.edu).

Get ready for a great moment in Moravian’s history!
