RECAP: A LOOK AT SOME RECENT ON-CAMPUS EVENTS

On April 12, translucent, leaf-shaped decals were placed along the walkway between PPHAC and Collier Hall. They reflect ultraviolet light to discourage birds from colliding with the windows. The bird-saving strategywas implemented by facilities management at the request of students in Beta Bata Beta, the biology honor society.

Moravian's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science sponsored "Mathematics Matters at Moravian," a workshop for area high school students interested in mathematics and computer science, on April 12 (above left). On April 18, the department invited the Moravian community to join them in celebrating the 300th birthday of the great mathematician Leonhard Euler. Students were offered an automatic A if they could solve his Konigsberg Bridge Problem: find a way to cross each bridge on a map only once. No A's were awarded, but the cake was delicious.

The 2007 Relay for Life, held on the HUB quad on April 14, included 163 participants and raised $8613.00 for the American Cancer Society. The event ran from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and included live music, a carnival for kids, games and contests, and a closing luminary service.
