Institutional Advancement exceeds goals, reaches new donors Energized donors responded generously to the Moravian mission and efforts of the development team in 2007-08. A total of $5,677,659 was raised, exceeding Institutional Advancement's goal of $5,350,000 for the year, according to a report presented by Peter Caputo, vice president for institutional advancement, at the President’s Colloquium, August 21. The amount represents an 11% increase over the total dollars raised in 2006-07. "The work of our staff and many excellent volunteers, combined with some very nice gifts and bequests, contributed to our success," commented Peter. Additional highlights included:
The use of e-mail to reach donors and inform them of progress toward fundraising goals generated excitement and increased contributions, noted Jackie Jones, Moravian Fund director. Senior class participation rose significantly, as well. Senior class participation is important because it paves the way for lifetime giving. |
