New York in October is a magical time, and the Moravian College New York City Alumni Club has just the opportunity for you to experience the magic. On Thursday October 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Moravian alumni will gather at BlackFinn restaurant in Manhattan for drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and camaraderie. Twenty dollars pays for the open bar, appetizers, and gratuity.

"You can’t beat this kind of deal in the city," says organizer Jon Latiano '06. "And besides, a Thursday event is the perfect excuse to spend the weekend in one of the most exciting places in the world." All alumni are welcome to attend.—Scott Heydt '02

This year for the first time in Moravian College history, Homecoming and Family Day will be celebrated on the same weekend, October 23 and 24. Alumni, families, faculty members and staff are invited to "come home" to this exciting event and reconnect with the Moravian College family.

There will be activities for all to enjoy, including the Rocco Calvo Golf Tournament, dedication of the HILL, continental breakfast, interest sessions, picnic lunch and tailgate party, football game, alumni art show reception, Fifth Quarter Party, and more.

For the complete program of activities and online registration, please visit the website at http://www.moravian.edu/alumni/homecoming.htm.

Health Insurance Available through the Alumni Association

During this time of economic uncertainty, many of our alumni, new grads, and their family members are in need of health insurance.

Short-term and permanent health insurance options are available through the alumni insurance program.  The program is typically promoted to new grads just before and after graduation, but in response to the rising unemployment rate and in an effort to help all of those in need, we’re spreading the word more broadly this year.  This is also perfect for children of alums who are graduating (even if they did not attend Moravian College) and aren’t yet covered under an employer’s health plan.

For more information, individuals can contact the alumni office or contact the program manager directly at www.meyerandassoc.com/ma/moravian or 800-635-7801.
