Homecoming and Family Weekend 2009: "There's No Place Like Home"
More than 750 alumni, family members, and friends came home to Moravian for Homecoming and Family Weekend, October 23-24. Among them was the Moravian College alumni marching band, organized by alumnae Ashley Pizzino '08 and Charlotte Guarino '09, who marched along with 20 other alumni musicians to the tune of "Hot, Hot, Hot" and other classic parade songs.
Mathematics, computer science, philosophy, and history alumni held stimulating conversations during their department reunions in the Priscilla Payne Hurd Academic Complex on Saturday morning. Art alumni gathered for a festive reception in the HUB after the football game, where an alumni jazz trio entertained the crowd. Sports enthusiasts cheered on the Hounds at football and field hockey games Saturday; and on Friday morning, many played in the annual Rocco Calvo golf tournament, held at the Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course. Despite the rain, more than 300 people enjoyed the tailgating camaraderie in the Locust Street tailgate area.
When alumni and families come home to Moravian's neighborhood, exciting and lively activities happen around every corner.
