"Coffee and Connections" Builds
The November 10 "Coffee and Connections – a Student-Alumni Career Networking Event," organized by the Alumni Relations Office and Career Center, was a success for student and alumni participants.
The nine-year-old program (formerly known as the Career Networking Reception) brings together Moravian alumni and students for an evening of professional relationship building. Alumni offer career-related advice to students and talk about their own experiences at Moravian.
As a recent graduate and Alumni Board member, I'm glad I had the opportunity to attend. I was impressed by the way so many students took the time to introduce themselves to numerous alumni. For me, this important event exemplifies the caring commitment of the Moravian College community. I first attended as a student, and I have remained in contact with many of the alumni I met through the program. One alumna in particular advised me during my senior year as I searched for a professional position.
The 2009 "Coffee and Connections" attracted forty alumni and eight-five students and featured welcoming remarks from Kris Groller '79, executive director of human resource development and strategy at Olympus. The program was coordinated by the Student Alumni Association, Alumni Relations office, members of the Alumni Board, and the Career Center.
The program occurs annually, so please consider attending future programs if you are an alum or a student. —Geoffrey Roche '08, Alumni Board member
