President Thomforde and Chief of Staff Advocate in D.C.

President Thomforde and Julie Del Giorno met with Senator Robert Casey, as well as with the legislative staffs of Congressman Dent and Senator Toomey in Washington, D.C., February 3.

Christopher Thomforde, president of Moravian College and Moravian Theological Seminary, and Julie Del Giorno, chief of staff, met with legislators in Washington, D.C., February 3 to advocate for Moravian, as well as for the sustainment and maintenance of student financial aid programs, such as the Pell grant.

“Budget discussions at the federal level are very difficult, just as they are at state level,” said Del Giorno. “But we feel that our visit was very successful. Our elected representatives have always held Moravian in high esteem and have been supportive.”

Moravian visits its Congressional delegation at least yearly to inform them about the life and work of the College and Seminary and to seek their aid and assistance with strategic projects.
