Meet Your New Board Members
Four alumni were formally elected to serve on the board of the Alumni Association at the group’s February meeting.Alumni board president Brian Corvino ’02 welcomed Matthew Hovey ’06, Amanda Birosik Shilko ’07, Jessica Preston Coldwell ’08, and Rebecca Angstadt Roche ’08 to the 22-member board whose primary goals include creating and implementing programs that build pride and loyalty among Moravian alumni.
Matthew Hovey ’06 is an attorney with Prince Law Offices, a general practice law firm based in the Pottstown area. Matt served as both president and treasurer of United Student Government and was the student body representative on the presidential search committee that selected President Thomforde. A political science major at Moravian, he graduated from Villanova University School of Law in 2009 and interned with Federal District Judge James M. Munley, who handed down the controversial immigration decision in Lozano v. Hazleton which is on its way to the Supreme Court, and with the legal department for the School District of Philadelphia. A resident of Pottstown, Pa., Matt is engaged to Kristin Maddaloni ’07.
Amanda Birosik Shilko ’07 is director of insurance and financial services for the ETA Benefits Groups in Tamaqua, Pa., and also serves on the advisory board for the newly formed Lehigh Valley indoor football team, the Steelhawks. As an undergrad, Amanda held down three part-time jobs and many work study jobs on campus, was a phone-a-thon volunteer and a calculus tutor, and was a member of 26 points. She graduated from Moravian with a degree in business management and a minor in English. She now lives in Nesquehoning, Pa.
Jessica Preston Coldwell ’08 is a new business development associate for the Somerville, N.J.-based interior design firm Dancker, Sellew & Douglas, which specializes in commercial offices, healthcare, education, and pharmaceuticals, and, with her sister, recently started her own gourmet cupcake business, A Cape Cupcake. A member of Sigma Sigma Sigma and a varsity cheerleader, Jessica served as the College’s Panhellenic president and worked at the HUB Desk. Upon graduation, she was the Sigma Alumni President, 2008-10, and helped create an active Central New Jersey Alumni Chapter, which has held two Hound Hours in the past year. Jessica and her husband Pete Coldwell ’06 reside in Washington, N.J.
Rebecca Roche ’08 is a senior accountant with Kreischer Miller, a public accounting firm, located in Horsham, Pa. While at Moravian, Rebecca served as a resident advisor, head usher at Vespers, and was a member of the varsity tennis team that earned a berth in the NCAA Division III National Tournament in 2007. She has served as an alumni mentor and recently began volunteering with Life Choice Hospice by visiting a patient on a weekly basis. She and her husband Geoffrey Roche ’08, a fellow alumni board member, reside in the Bethlehem area.
