Saturday brings the football game and Tailgate Party, with a special halftime presentation honoring Rocco Calvo and Gil Gillespie as inductees into the MAC Hall of Fame.

If your class year ends in 2 or 7 and you graduated between 1982 and 2012, don’t miss your reunion. For information and online registration about these and all Homecoming events visit  www.moravian.edu/homecoming.

Alumni Roundtable meets again

Alumni Roundtable members will focus on more engagement with affinity groups and strengthened career support/mentoring for students in the 2012-2013 year. At a September 22 meeting on campus, Roundtable members committed to these current priorities and reaffirmed their strategic mission:

  • Launch and support regional alumni groups.
  • Support the Alumni Relations office in organizing alumni networking events.
  • Expand alumni roles in providing career support for students.

The Roundtable was formed last year to channel the enthusiasm and leadership of alumni who have volunteered to work closely with Alumni Relations to organize regional alumni involvement in networking and student support.

Nicole Loyd, vice president for student affairs, joined Roundtable members at the recent meeting for extended discussion about how alumni can support and amplify the work of Student Affairs.  Specific opportunities for alumni engagement focused on Residence/Greek Life alumni affinity groups and on engaging alumni for expanded career exploration and support.
Roundtable members agreed to set priorities for

  • boosting engagement with Greeks and other affinity groups such as ODM, RA’s and United Student Government.
  • enlisting expanded alumni support for on-campus and off-campus activities sponsored by Student Affairs.

The Roundtable coordinator is Scott Williams '04, president of the Washington, D.C., alumni chapter. In addition to Williams and Marsha Stiles '99, director of alumni relations, other Roundtable members at the September 22 meeting were Hilary Constable '01, Jessica Preston '08, Geoffrey Roche '08, Norm Ziegler '66 and Rick Subber '69 '95.
