It’s a small world
|Regina LaCaruba '05 and Dr. Amy Pellicano-Sharphouse '05.
I am always running into fellow Moravians in the strangest places or hearing stories of other people doing the same ... people randomly seeing one another in far-off places, at random events. Many times, when I travel, the next thing I know, the girl on the airplane is a freshman at Moravian. Last week one of my bunnies was very ill, and I needed a vet—quick. I took him to the nearest open vet, and was surprised to see Dr. Amy Pellicano-Sharphouse '05 (married to another Moravian alum, Michael Sharphouse ’05. Amy and I had been floormates in Bernie freshman year and then in occasional chemistry classes, and I knew she had gone on to vet school. Seeing my Moravian friend walk into the room was a godsend and a pleasant surprise that touched my heart because I love seeing other Moravian's in the darndest places.
Amy has a heart of gold, lives the Moravian promise by taking special care of other Moravians, and had the warmest and most cheerful bedside manner of any vet I have used for all the pets I've had since I was a kid. Needless to say, she is officially our new veterinarian.

It was a beautiful evening on Main Street
The weather was ideal for shopping and dining in downtown Bethlehem on Thursday, November 15. Alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends came to the lobby of the Hotel Bethlehem to receive their shopping pass and have some hot cider and cookies before heading out to get a head start on their holiday shopping. Thursdays are bustling nights on Main Street and nearly 20 merchants offered special discounts for Moravian shoppers. Many of the stores also donated items and gift cards for a basket raffle which was won by five lucky people. Proceeds from the raffle went to the shopping night host, the Lehigh Valley Alumni Home Club; the club in turn uses this money to help fund some student events. It was a fun and festive night for all!
