Weekend Brings Back Old Friends Who Enjoy Moravian's New
Look
Although the rain dampened this year’s Alumni Weekend parade
and new block-party format, it did not dampen the spirits of more
than 530 alumni and friends who attended the 2003 Alumni Weekend
and Founder’s Day events.
Friday’s Women’s College Founder’s Day Lovefeast
featured Mildred Diefenderfer Thompson ’39 with an entertaining
presentation of “Moravian Educated Women: From Lion’s
Den to Laboratories”; and the 50+ Club inducted 30 new members
of the class of 1953 at their annual breakfast.
Dr. Rokke addressed 285 alumni and guests at the Reunion Luncheon,
where the Association also honored William F. Bauman ’74
with the Medallion of Merit for outstanding service.
Forty alumni attended two sessions featuring the technology of
the Hurd Academic Complex, and more enjoyed tours of the many new
additions to the campus. Elegant class dinners, followed by dancing,
completed an enjoyable weekend. Moravian’s web manager, Christie
Jacobsen ’00, continuously updated the home page photo album
of the weekend for those who could not attend. To visit our photo
album of Alumni Weekend and other events, go to www.moravian.edu.
